Terms of Service

Gobooki Inc. provides a service platform that offers content, products, etc., to its members. Members can use the services (hereinafter referred to as “Services”) provided by Gobooki Inc. using computers, mobile phones, and other information communication devices. The specific details and conditions of use of the Services can be found in the Terms of Service, policies, and service pages.

These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”) contain the rights and obligations of Gobooki Inc. and its members in relation to the use of the Services.

1. Account

1.1 Membership Registration

An account created through membership registration is required to use the Services. Gobooki Inc. may proceed with identity verification procedures for the member. If the member refuses to provide the necessary information for membership registration or enters false or other people"s information, membership registration may not proceed.

1.2 Minors

Minors may have restrictions on membership registration or use of the Services according to relevant laws. They must obtain consent from their parents or legal guardians for payment to use the Services. If the legal guardian does not consent, the minor or legal guardian may cancel the payment.

1.3 Updating Account Information

It is the member"s responsibility to update account information such as email addresses and contact details. Gobooki Inc. is not responsible for any disadvantages that arise from not updating account information, provided there is no intentional or gross negligence on the part of Gobooki Inc.

2. Sale of Content, etc.

2.1 Content

Members can purchase and use content sold individually by Gobooki Inc. within the Services. The refund conditions for content can be found in the refund policy.

2.2 Goods

Members can purchase various types of goods, including necessary materials for taking courses, in certain regions. The refund conditions for goods can be found in the refund policy.

2.3 Promotions

Gobooki Inc. may offer promotions to members. The targets and content of promotions are determined or modified at the sole discretion of Gobooki Inc. Additionally, certain new promotions may be restricted from being offered to existing members, including recently joined members. Information about the targets and conditions of promotions will be provided through separate electronic methods.

3. Service Usage Restrictions

Members can use the Services at any time. However, the use of the Services may be restricted if maintenance or management of telecommunication facilities is necessary or if there are disruptions in the information communication network. Additionally, the provision of Services may be restricted by laws, court rulings, or administrative orders in the member’s country of residence.

4. Compliance

4.1 Prohibited Acts

Members shall not engage in the following acts in connection with the use of the Services:

  • Violating the laws of Korea or foreign countries
  • Engaging in illegal activities using the Services directly or indirectly
  • Entering false information for membership registration
  • Interfering with the use of the Services by third parties through coercion or other means
  • Misappropriating personal information or payment methods of third parties
  • Disposing of (including securing or entrusting) or lending one"s account or payment methods to third parties
  • Infringing on the intellectual property rights of Gobooki Inc. or third parties
  • Defaming or damaging the reputation or credit of Gobooki Inc. or third parties
  • Posting obscene, violent, cruel, or gambling-related information
  • Engaging in discriminatory acts that violate human rights or equality rights
  • Using the Services for commercial purposes (advertising, etc.) by oneself or third parties
  • Collecting information of third parties without permission
  • Damaging or interfering with the Services operated by Gobooki Inc. or causing overload on the server
  • Transmitting or posting information (computer programs) other than those specified by Gobooki Inc.
  • Archiving, copying, publicly transmitting, distributing, modifying, displaying, performing, publishing, licensing, creating secondary works of, selling, soliciting, or using the content and information obtained through the Services
  • Circumventing, deleting, modifying, invalidating, weakening, or damaging the content protection function included in the Services, using automated means such as robots, spiders, scrapers to access the Services, decompiling, reverse engineering, or disassembling the software or other products, inserting codes or products, manipulating the Services in any way, using data mining, data collection, or extraction methods
  • Uploading, posting, emailing, sending, or transmitting materials designed to interfere with, destroy, or limit the functionality of computer software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment related to the Services, including computer viruses, other computer codes, files, or programs

4.2 Community Use

Members can create posts using community services. However, it is prohibited to create posts containing any of the following expressions:

  • Expressions that defame Gobooki Inc. or third parties
  • Expressions that infringe on the intellectual property rights of Gobooki Inc. or third parties
  • Expressions that infringe on the personal information of third parties
  • Discriminatory expressions that violate human rights or equality rights
  • Expressions that cause discomfort or insult to specific individuals
  • Expressions that are proven to be false or clearly false
  • Using the Services for commercial purposes (advertising, etc.) by oneself or third parties
  • Expressions containing obscene, violent, cruel, or gambling-related content

4.3 Violation of Compliance

If a member violates 4.1 or 4.2, Gobooki Inc. may demand correction, block the post, restrict the creation or use of the account, and take legal action for damages. If Gobooki Inc. takes such measures, it will notify the member in accordance with the provisions of 5.4. Additionally, if a third party"s rights are infringed upon due to posts created by the member, the third party may request the deletion of the relevant post by proving the infringement through Gobooki Inc."s customer center. Gobooki Inc. will take necessary measures without delay after receiving the request and notify the third party and the member by electronic means. However, if it is difficult to determine whether the third party"s rights are infringed or disputes between interested parties are expected, access to the relevant post may be temporarily blocked within 30 days.

5. Withdrawal of Membership and Account Suspension

5.1 Members can withdraw at any time. However, if the member has any obligations to Gobooki Inc., the withdrawal may be withheld.

5.2 If a member does not agree to the revised Terms and cannot apply the previous Terms to the member, Gobooki Inc. may proceed with membership withdrawal regardless of the member"s application.

5.3 If a member violates 5.1 or 5.2, the member"s account may be temporarily suspended. In this case, Gobooki Inc. is not responsible for extending the subscription period or refunding due to the passage of the subscription period due to the restriction or suspension of account use.

5.4 Gobooki Inc. will individually notify the member of the account suspension at least one week before the start of the account suspension under 5.3. However, Gobooki Inc. may shorten the period if necessary and may notify the member of the account suspension retrospectively in unavoidable cases.

5.5 If the information posted by a member whose account has been suspended violates 5.1 or 5.2, Gobooki Inc. may delete all or part of the posted information.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 The content provided by the Services is the work of Gobooki Inc. or third parties and is protected by relevant laws and international treaties.

6.2 Gobooki Inc. strives to protect the valuable intellectual property of its members and third parties. If Gobooki Inc. infringes on the intellectual property rights of a member, Gobooki Inc. will compensate the member for the damages in accordance with relevant laws.

6.3 When a member posts information within the Services, Gobooki Inc. or third parties may use that information for the operation, promotion, and improvement of Gobooki Inc. or the Services. However, if the member notifies Gobooki Inc. of their objection to such use, Gobooki Inc. will stop the use.

7. Personal Information

7.1 Collection and Use of Personal Information

Gobooki Inc. may collect and use the personal information of members in accordance with its privacy policy. Members can refuse to provide personal information or request the deletion of personal information at any time. Additionally, Gobooki Inc. may send advertising information to members using electronic means such as text messages, emails, and app pushes in accordance with relevant laws, and members can refuse to receive advertising information at any time.

7.2 Deletion of Personal Information

Gobooki Inc. will destroy or retain the personal information of members in accordance with relevant laws and its privacy policy when members withdraw. However, Gobooki Inc. may keep the posts created by members as they are when they withdraw.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Gobooki Inc. does not guarantee the legality, accuracy, truthfulness, reliability, or validity of the content.

8.2 Gobooki Inc. does not guarantee the integrity of the data that makes up the Services.

8.3 Gobooki Inc. is not responsible for damages caused by the member"s fault or due to circumstances beyond the control of Gobooki Inc., such as natural disasters, strikes, or infectious diseases.

8.4 Gobooki Inc. does not intervene in disputes between members and is not responsible for damages caused by such disputes unless there is a fault on the part of Gobooki Inc.

8.5 Gobooki Inc. takes necessary technical protection measures for information system security, including personal information of members, in accordance with relevant laws. However, Gobooki Inc. is not responsible for losses incurred by members due to hacking, computer viruses, etc., despite these technical protection measures, unless there is a fault on the part of Gobooki Inc.

8.6 Gobooki Inc. is not responsible for transactions between sellers and members when Gobooki Inc. mediates telecommunication sales unless there is a fault on the part of Gobooki Inc. However, in accordance with relevant laws, Gobooki Inc. provides seller information to members.

8.7 Gobooki Inc. is not responsible for product liability for goods not manufactured by Gobooki Inc. supplied to members. However, if a member requests information about the manufacturer of the goods, Gobooki Inc. will provide it to the member in accordance with relevant laws.

9. Interpretation and Amendment of the Terms

9.1 Gobooki Inc. fairly interprets these Terms in accordance with the principles of good faith and does not interpret them differently for members. In addition, parts of these Terms that are not clear will be interpreted in favor of the members.

9.2 Gobooki Inc. may operate individual terms or policies for individual services that make up the Services. Individual terms or policies are enacted and amended in accordance with the provisions of 9.3 and 9.4 and have the same effect as these Terms for members. However, if individual terms or policies contradict these Terms, these Terms will take precedence.

9.3 If Gobooki Inc. amends these Terms, it will notify members of the main amendment details and the effective date by electronic means at least 7 days before the effective date. However, if the amendments include content unfavorable to the members, it will notify them at least 30 days before the effective date.

9.4 When Gobooki Inc. amends these Terms, it will notify members separately that ‘if the member does not express their intention to refuse by the effective date or continues to use the Services after the effective date, it is considered that they have agreed to the amendment of these Terms.’ Members can agree or refuse, and Gobooki Inc. will confirm the member"s consent to the amended Terms. If the member does not express their intention to refuse by the effective date or continues to use the Services (including continuing to use existing services or making new payments for services) after the effective date, it is considered that they have agreed to the Terms in effect at the time of use. However, if the member does not agree to the amended Terms and the previous Terms cannot be applied to the member, the membership withdrawal procedure may proceed.

10. Notifications and Announcements

Gobooki Inc. will notify members of notifications under these Terms by electronic means through the email address or phone number provided by the member. For notifications to an unspecified number of members, Gobooki Inc. may substitute individual notifications by posting them electronically within the Services for more than one week. However, individual notifications will be made for matters that significantly affect the member"s transactions.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

11.1 The interpretation and application of these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.

11.2 For e-commerce disputes between Gobooki Inc. and members, lawsuits shall be filed with the member"s address at the time of filing, and if there is no address, with the district court having jurisdiction over the member"s residence. However, if the member"s address or residence is unclear at the time of filing, or if the member resides abroad, the lawsuit shall be filed with the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.

12. Legal Notice

12.1 It is prohibited to use Gobooki Inc."s name or trademarks directly without Gobooki Inc."s permission or to imply sponsorship or endorsement without authorization, in accordance with relevant laws.

12.2 The content provided by Gobooki Inc. is a copyrighted work protected by relevant laws. It is not allowed to copy, distribute, transmit, alter, or edit the content without the permission of the copyright holder.

Effective Date: June 30, 2024

Refund Policy

1. Products

  • The refund procedure for products proceeds after confirming non-delivery or return of the product.
  • If the product content differs from the advertised content, a refund is possible within 3 months from the date of receipt or within 30 days from the date the fact was discovered or could have been discovered.
  • Refund requests are not allowed in the following cases:
    • If the product is lost or damaged due to reasons attributable to the member
    • If the product"s value has significantly decreased due to use or partial consumption by the member
    • If the product"s value has significantly decreased to the extent that resale is difficult over time
    • If the packaging of a reproducible product is damaged
    • If the use (download, playback, etc.) of digital content such as designs, e-books, etc., has started
    • If the company has notified in advance that refunds may be restricted for products individually produced according to orders and obtained the member"s consent
  • Refund amount on the request date:
    • Before the start of product shipping: Full payment amount
    • Within 7 days of purchasing digital content without using the content at all: Full payment amount
    • Before 7 days have passed since the date of receipt after product shipment: Full payment amount (excluding return shipping costs)
    • After 7 days have passed since the date of receipt: None
    • After 7 days of purchasing digital content or if the content has been used (confirmed purchase): None

2. Other Matters

  • The bonus period of digital content provided for free by the company in connection with marketing, events, etc., does not affect refunds.
  • The company may deduct financial transaction fees, taxes, etc., when processing refunds.
  • The company may refuse refunds if the member violates relevant laws or terms of service.
  • For bundled products, the refund conditions for each component product (service) apply, and they will be notified through individual product information pages.

3. Policy Amendments

  • The company may amend this policy within the scope that does not violate the 「Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions」, 「Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.」, and other relevant laws.
  • If the company amends this policy, it will notify members of the main amendment details and the effective date by electronic means at least 7 days before the effective date. However, if the amendments include content unfavorable to the members, it will notify them at least 30 days before the effective date.
